True archaeological treasures, the buried legions of the Emperor Qin are on display for the first time in Paris until 14 September 2008. These outstanding terracotta objects – a representation of guards armed with the mausoleum of the first Emperor of China - are privileged witnesses of the military omnipotence of this ruler, considered to be the founder of China.

Shakespeare’s Garden Theatre Festival
Outdoor theatre

The Pré Catelan public park located in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne is a real treasure. This green setting recreates the world of William Shakespeare with a series of carefully themed gardens designed to evoke the spirit of five of Shakespeare’s best-known plays, from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Macbeth to Hamlet, “he Tempest and As You Like It.
This garden turns into one of the loveliest open air theatres each spring. The stage setting, dotted with fragrant plants, briars and flowerbeds, gives on to lush green lawns for spectators to sit on.
This theatre festival opening in May, as usual, with a show of folk Scottish dances, offers a European Season this year.
The program includes four plays by Italian, English and French playwrights : La Locandiera by Carlo Goldoni, Twelfth Night, in English and A Midsummer’s Night Dream by Wiliam Shakespeare, and Les Plaideurs by Jean Racine.
