A Dream Of Italy Exhibition at the Louvre
More than 500 diverse pieces are shown at the Louvre museum on the occasion of A Dream Of Italy - The Marquis Campana’s Collection.
From 07/11/2018 to 18/02/2019
Some collections of paintings and items in an exhibition can have greater significance than others. Sometimes it can seem as though the items are random and only fit a vague theme. Other times there are clever threads or rare collections.
The Marquis Campana’s Collection – currently visible in the A Dream Of Italy Exhibition at the Louvre – is a great example of the latter. Here staff and experts from Paris and St Petersburg have brought a broken, historic collection back together.
Back in the 19th century, the Marquis’ collection was one of the most important in the world. The pieces went to new homes following an embezzlement conviction in 1857.
This is a fresh chance for visitors to the gallery to see this collection as intended. There are more than 500 diverse pieces back together again.
The show continues until the 18th of February 2019 and is a must-see event for art lovers and historians alike.
