Until September 11th, 2016, the Musée d’Orsay will be presenting Charles Gleyre (1806-1874). The Reformed Romantic.

Giving prominence to the Swiss artist Charles Gleyre’s best works, the exhibition Charles Gleyre (1806-1874). The Reformed Romantic is considered the first exhibition ever dedicated to Gleyre, in France.
Attendees will be able to contemplate a selection of Gleyre’s most interesting works of art, among which many pieces are on loan from the Cantonal Museum of Fine Arts in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Charles Gleyre (1806-1874). The Reformed Romantic offers visitors a chance to find more about the major role that the studio of this professional artist played in shaping artists such as Claude Monet (1840 – 1926), Jean Frédéric Bazille (1841 – 1870), and Jean-Léon Gérôme (1824 – 1904).
