Takesada Matsutani at Paris Centre Pompidou.
Takesada Matsutani is a name that has only crept onto the artistic radar in Paris in recent years. He first exhibited in international fairs in 2013, which is a shame because he was a rising star in the 1960s and is not 82 years old.
From 26/06/2019 to 23/09/2019
He may be in his golden years but his work is still urgent and doesn’t shy away from the themes of his youth. There is work that takes a closer look at spiritual themes and the Shinto religion of his native Japan. This helped him to create a “black” period and a lot of piece with organic matter.
This unique artist now has a retrospective at the Paris Centre Pompidou. It is a chance for French art lovers to finally get acquainted with the artist that has lived and worked among them for so long. Check out the show between now and the 23rd of September to learn more.
